Aobut us

Hi, I’m Lawrin.

Grounded in science, guided by nature, and centred entirely on you - founded on the belief that your body, when truly supported, has an extraordinary ability to heal itself.

I believe that true health is about more than the absence of illness - it’s about feeling vibrant, balanced, and at home in your body.

As a degree-qualified Naturopath and Medical Herbalist based in Whangarei, I work with people of all ages and backgrounds, helping them find natural solutions that genuinely fit their lives. My approach brings together herbal medicine, nutritional therapy, and lifestyle support to address the root causes of what you’re experiencing - not just manage the symptoms.

I’m also a certified Metabolic Balance® Practitioner, offering a scientifically-based personalised nutrition programme that works with your unique biochemistry to restore balance, support weight management, and improve your overall wellbeing.

As a proud member of the Naturopaths & Medical Herbalists of New Zealand (NMHNZ), I’m committed to the highest professional and ethical standards in natural healthcare.

When you come to see me, you’ll never feel rushed. I take a thorough health history to truly understand your complete picture - your symptoms, your story, and what’s driving your health concerns at their root cause. From there I formulate a comprehensive, personalised health plan that addresses diet, lifestyle, and supplementation where needed, drawing on both traditional naturopathic wisdom and current evidence-based research.

I’d love to be part of your health journey.

Becoming a naturopath was never part of the plan - but looking back, it makes complete sense. I spent years working in the legal and human resources field before burnout stopped me in my tracks. As a mum of two who had spent a long time running on empty - managing an autoimmune condition, hormone imbalance, and years of yo-yo dieting alongside a demanding career - something had to give. Naturopathy has been around for generations, but I simply didn’t know it was an option. I spent years wishing someone would look a little deeper and truly listen.

That lived experience shapes everything about how I practise. I know what it feels like to not be heard, to try everything, and to still not feel well. When you sit across from me, you’re not just talking to someone with a degree — you’re talking to someone who genuinely gets it.

Now I get to be that person for others. And that means everything to me.

I’m still very much on my own health journey, and I find that keeps me grounded, curious, and genuinely excited about what’s possible - for me, and for every person I work with.

The principles behind my practice

As a member of the NMHNZ, my practice is grounded in six core naturopathic principles. These aren't just professional guidelines - they shape every consultation I have and every health plan I create.

The healing power of nature

Your body is remarkably intelligent. Given the right conditions, it has an innate capacity to heal itself. My role is to support and work with that process - not override it.

Identify and treat the cause

Symptoms are your body’s way of telling you something isn’t right. Rather than simply managing what’s on the surface, I look deeper to find what’s actually driving your health concerns - because that’s where lasting change begins.

First, do no harm

I use gentle, evidence-informed approaches that work with your body’s natural healing processes. The goal is always to choose the safest, most effective path forward - one that supports healing without creating new problems.

Treat the whole person

You are more than a set of symptoms. Your physical health, mental and emotional wellbeing, lifestyle, environment, and life history are all interconnected - and all relevant. I take the time to understand your whole picture before making any recommendations.

Doctor as teacher

I believe that an informed client is an empowered one. Part of my job is helping you understand what’s happening in your body and why - so you can make confident, sustainable choices for your health long after you leave my clinic.

Prevention and long-term wellness

True health isn’t just the absence of illness - it’s building the resilience and foundation to stay well. Wherever possible, I work with you not just to address what’s happening now, but to protect your health into the future.
